Will basically accept only a few sheets of paper for print jobs.otherwise it jams. It is noisy. Have not tried fax yet. This product is something that even Toys-r-us would be ashamed of stocking on one of its toy shelves. As far as printing.give me back my Epson, any Epson. It is slow.
This multi-printer is a multi-piece of junk. Please.Please.Please ignore all good reviews of this product. It jams too frequently on print jobs (i.e., when loading paper). Copier is OK.
YOUVE BEEN WARNED:- NO printing / scanning / faxing / functionality whatsoever if there is no ink left in ANY of the ink cartridges- scanning hangs at "Processing Please Wait Momentarily". It's like sitting through a phone system at AT&T only to be taken to the main menu again- printing hands at "Processing Please Wait Momentarily".
Just save yourself the trouble and get a $20 printer, $40 fax machine, and $60 scanner, because they would do you MUCH more good. Thanks, Canon mx700.- arbitrarily save incoming faxes within memory rather than printing them.
I'm printing 20 copies OF THE SAME DOCUMENT, WHAT PROCESSING DOES THIS THING HAVE TO DO.- develop line streaks after 5 months of use from the Automatic Document Feeder. It has all of the usability of a $20 printer.
Here are the things that this printer does consistently. What does that mean and why does it just go back to the original screen of "Feed paper now".
I never set this up, and yet for some reason that important document that was faxed 2 days ago doesn't appear unless you deliberately go into the menu and print it.This printer as well as all of the MX Pixma printers in the series is a joke.
Seriously who designed this thing, did they intentionaly make it this bad or was it designed by a commity of burocrats. The drivers are not plug and play, and in order to get the printer setup on the network you need to install it as a usb printer first. This machine is just not worth the hassel. Also you can't make it work with linux, and the Mac OSX drivers are poorly written, and feel like an after thought. The MX700 is the most needlessly difficult printer to set up ( and I do IT for a large Federal Gov agency ). Set up is relitivly easy if you just want to use it as a usb printer, but if you want to do network printing - get a HP or Lexmark or anything else. Further more you cannot do basic things like setting a static IP address.
Actually, maybe more than 50% -- I think I've had to do this almost every time I've printed something. Every time you print, you have a more than 50% chance of the page not printing properly until you go into the Maintenance tools and clean the print head. Like I said, if it wasn't for this one thing, I would love this machine, but for this one reason only I have to give it a 3 out of 5 stars. If it wasn't for one thing, I would probably be giving the Canon MX700 a 5-star review. What is that one thing. Maybe I have a defective machine, I don't know, but it's really annoying -- not only that, but this problem wastes paper and ink.
Professionals may find the need for more bells and whistles, but to just get the job done at home, this works. This printer could not be more perfect for your simple home office. Great quality, great price, go for it.
